Tell us about your CRE background:
12 years at CBRE, 8 years at JLL. Leader of Tenant Rep business for JLL on a Chicago and Central Region Basis.
What is your advice for young brokers starting out in the industry?
Work hard, and find a good mentor.
What do you expect to see in the CRE market for 2014?
Increase in activity.
What do you hope to accomplish this year as COLBA president? COLBA has a great tradition of running excellent events that deal with current CRE topics, as well as interesting speakers and leaders in the Chicago business and real estate community. I hope we have another great year of these events, and it looks like we will. We have a phenomenal Board, and a great events leader in Audrey Lakin. It is truly a team effort.
What are some of your philanthropic associations?
City of Hope, Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund (DMSF), and Almost Home Kids. I have served on all of these Boards for the last 5-10 years.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Spend time with my kids, golf, platform tennis, basketball
If you weren’t in Real Estate, what would you like to be doing?
Probably still practicing law . . . thank goodness I’m not!
